This instrument is considered to be the first to employ centrifugal force to isolate and set down a monolayer of cells on slides, at the same time preserving the cellular integrity.

Shandon Cytospin 3 can accommodate a wide range of samples with the use of Cytofunnel disposable sample chambers, available in size options ranging from 0.1ml to 6ml. The device shows an acceleration speed range of (200-2,000 rpm). For providing better performance, the instrument incorporates nine program selection capability and automatic specimen protection features.
This centrifuge includes a rotor however unfortunately does not include clips.
